WINS Visiting Scholars Programme

Present Visiting Scholars

Former Visiting Scholars

The visiting scholar program is one of the key components of WINS given that it is designed as a workshop of ideas. Our visiting scholars from around the world bring with themselves knowledge and expertise about variegated institutional and social-ecological environments. During their stay at WINS, they develop and sharpen their knowledge base on institutional analysis and contribute to the SES community by participating in colloquiums, giving presentations, engaging in scientific discussions and attending and delivering lectures. The visiting scholar program is open to both junior researchers like Ph.D. students and post-docs as well as senior researchers. The visiting scholars will have the opportunity to interact with WINS affiliated faculty and researchers but also the broader academic community at Humboldt University Berlin (HU Berlin). They will be provided with office space, library access to HU Berlin and internet access.

To apply as a visiting scholar for a period of less than two weeks kindly send a short statement outlining the objective of the stay and a curriculum vitae.

To apply for a longer period please send the following documents:

1. A cover letter indicating what research you intend to do and with whom you would like to collaborate during your stay at WINS. The letter also needs to specify the proposed duration of your stay and how you plan to cover the expenses of the visit

2. An updated curriculum vitae

3. Two letters of reference or contact details of two referees who will be willing to endorse your visit

4. Two writing samples.

Please send your application to using the subject line ‘WINS Workshop Visiting Scholars Programme’.
